Nov 2009, Album Out!
Where does the time go? A mad but productive year. Links on the right here, go take a listen and download it. There will be a CD version available from MHM in December.
I'm pleased with the results. Considering Shine & Rise is a collection of songs I wrote for different bands, with very different aims, it hold together well. My first proper collection of songs since 2001's Bank Holiday Life EP, so about time huh!
Reviews and feedback have been good, such as:
"Shine & Rise is an enjoyable, varied and sometimes crazily joyous collection that sees Christy pillaging from the past and reinventing it in his own image, while transporting the listener back to the 60s, 70s and beyond.
For this reviewer, one of the highlights of the set is 'Try For The Sun aka Surf Tune'; it kicks off with crazy castanets and the sort of spaghetti western melody that usually accompanies Lee Van Cleef emerging from the saloon to shoot 'em up on Main Street, and explodes into a punked-up Beach Boys stomp - a delight!"
- Rock'n'Reel magazine's Diane Mason, Dec 09.
I should have a new video - or two - on the MileHighMusic Youtube page soon, but aside from the current release I'm excitedly working with a talented young songwriter from Poland, Ewa Reciak - video I've on Youtube now, and have been rehearsing a new band with a view to recording a full new album in the new year. It's time to move...
Happy Christmas! ;-)
Listen & Download Shine & Rise from iTunes - although it is cheaper for you to buy it direct from MileHighMusic ;-):

Feb 2009, Album nearly ready to roll!!!
After months spent establishing MileHighMusic and everything that goes with it, securing distribution, paper work galore(!), I have finally found some time to make myself a little space on the web :-)
The album Shine & Rise is 95% complete and will hopefully be available for download by late spring 2009. It collects together tracks that I've recorded over the last four years with Zen, the Mandrakes & also a couple that I cut solo in Aug '07 with my good friends James Tobin (bass) & Andre St Clair Dyer (drums).
Tracks set to be included are La Fille Francaise, Busy, Deja Vu, Table For One, Try For The Sun (aka Surf Tune), Too Much Information
Devil Take Me Down, Rescue Me Rescue You, Who'll Love Me Now, plus some undecided others, which could well include a very different reworking of the Beatles track Help.
It's good to be home... Christy
